Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom is getting a makeover
Walt Disney World’s Cinderella Castle is getting a makeover.
Magic Kingdom’s iconic centerpiece has had a few different looks over the nearly 50 years it has been around. Do you remember the birthday cake look for the 25th anniversary? Or when it was strewn with toilet paper for the opening of Stitch’s Great Escape. Or the polished golden trim accents and Disney character statues to celebrate Disneyland’s 50th anniversary.
Now, the castle will have gold accents placed around all the windows and turrets. How appropriate for the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Magic Kingdom on Oct. 1, 2021.
According to the Disney Parks Blog, the work will take place starting in the next few weeks and continuing through the summer.
While the work is taking place, the castle show, “Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire” and the “Happily Ever After” fireworks will go on as scheduled.
Here’s a look at what’s to come, below that is what the castle looks like now.
