Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opening date sent in March 2020

An opening date for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World has been announced. The attraction will open March 4, 2020, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Bob Chapek announced Tuesday.

The ride “begins when you see the premiere of a new cartoon short with Mickey and Minnie preparing for a picnic. As they head out, they drive alongside a train and find out that the engineer is Goofy. Then, one magical moment lets you step into the movie and on Goofy’s train for a wacky, wild ride,” according to Disney.

The new attraction opens where The Great Movie Ride was located.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway uses state-of-the-art technologies and visual effects to transform the cartoon world into a multi-dimensional experience. The show also comes with a new theme song. 

A version of this will open at Disneyland in Spring 2022.
