Boarding Groups for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance introduced

In an effort to improve the guest experience for the new Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, Disney has introduced Backup Boarding Groups for the evening.

To get on the ride people have been showing up as early as 5 a.m. to get in line to get in the park. Once in the park, you need to use the My Disney Experience app to join a Boarding Group for the ride. The 120 groups have been filled by 8 a.m.

Now, Disney will issue Backup Boarding Groups, which are designated from 121 and above, depending on the progress that day. Disney is making it clear that joining a backup group does not guarantee that you will be able to ride.

All notifications will be sent from the My Disney Experience.
