Lunar New Year, Food & Wine Festival return to Disneyland in 2020
The 2020 calendar is starting to get filled out at Disneyland with the return of two major events – the Lunar New Year celebration and Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival.
From Jan. 17 through Feb. 9, Disney California Adventure will celebrate the Lunar New Year, which is the Year of the Rat, with multicultural performances, activities, special décor and cuisine, and specialty merchandise.
The Lunar New Year celebration commemorates traditions of Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures, along with Disney characters.
One of the highlights is “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession,” a performance hosted by Mulan and her faithful dragon, Mushu.
From Feb. 28 through April 21, the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival will be held with live entertainment, culinary seminars and demonstrations, and lots of food and drink.
There will be more than a dozen Festival Marketplaces featuring small plates, specialty wines and craft beers. The Sip and Savor Pass will be available for all guests looking to try a variety of dishes.
In addition, a new line of event merchandise will be offered—from festival-themed headwear and apparel, to kitchen gadgets and decor. Kids can even join in on the fun with hands-on “cooking” experiences with Chef Goofy.
