FuelRod swaps to start costing $3 at Disney World in November
The FuelRod swaps at the Walt Disney World Resort will start costing $3 on Nov. 1, 2019. Now, the swaps are free.
FuelRod kiosks starting showing up at Disney World theme parks in 2016, allowing guest to recharge their Apple and Android devices. The one-time $30 charge provides a portable charger and charging cable.
As the battery runs out, all a person had to do was go to a kiosk and swap out the portable charger. At Disney World, the selling point was that the swap was free and there were unlimited swaps. But according to signs on kiosks that price will increase to $3.
You can also recharge the fuel rod yourself by plugging it into an electrical outlet.
FuelRod SwapBox kiosks are rapidly coming to many locations in the U.S. and Europe. They can be found at Orlando Sanford International Airport as well as most of the other theme parks in Orlando.
The $3 swap price was instituted at Universal months ago.
