Disney Skyliner at Disney World reopens with modified hours
The Disney Skyliner, which closed down over a week ago due to a malfunction and stranded guests for up to three hours, is again operational.
The system is running with limited modified hours for system updates, Disney announced.
“Following a complete review with the manufacturer, we’ve made adjustments to our processes and training, and we are improving how we communicate with guests during their flight with Disney Skyliner. We again offer our deepest apologies to the guests impacted by the malfunction that resulted in extended operating delays on Oct. 5,” Disney announced on
Starting today, guests may travel aboard the Disney Skyliner from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
There will be modified hours from Oct. 16 through Oct. 18, 2019, according to Disney.
On Oct. 16, the Disney’s Hollywood Studios line will be closed while the other two lines will be available from 1 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
On Oct 17 and Oct. 18, all lines will be open from 1 to 10:30 p.m.
The Disney Skyliner originally opened on Sept. 29 and uses the Caribbean Beach Resort as the central hub and has three lines. The line that was impacted was the Epcot line, which connects Epcot with the soon to open Riviera and Caribbean Beach resorts.

On Oct. 5, the Skyliner’s Epcot line went down for up to three hours causing six people in one gondola to be evacuated by the Reedy Creek Fire Department before the entire system went back online.
