How big is D23 Expo 2019? Here are some numbers for perspective
While panels and shopping for the masses at D23 Expo 2019 begin on Friday at the Anaheim Convention Center, there will be people lining up and plenty of people heading to Will Call to get their tickets for this year’s expo starting today.
This is, after all, the largest gathering of Disney fans – coming from all 50 states and 47 countries. This event places all of what Disney owns under one roof for three days to showcase what is coming. This time it includes Disney films, Disney Parks and Experiences, Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, National Geographic and The Simpsons just name a few.
This is the place Disney helps maps out the future of the parks, movies and television.
This event is so big that it takes up over 1 million square feet of the Anaheim Convention Center, including the exhibit halls, stage venues, back of house operations, and, of course, queue space.
For perspective, here are some key numbers behind D23 Expo 2019.
6: This marks the sixth D23 Expo. Previous events took place in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017.
215: This is the number of presentations, panels, concerts, demonstrations, meet-and-greets, and sneak peeks that will take place during the Expo.
56: The number of vendors in the D23 Expo Emporium from fine art dealers and toy makers to travel agencies and Disney fan sites.
70: This is the number of stars from Walt Disney Television who will be making appearances at D23 Expo 2019, including stars from “black-ish,” “Dancing with the Stars,” “grown-ish,” “The Simpsons,” “DuckTales, “ “mixed-ish,” “ZOMBIES,” and “Raven’s Home.”
290: The number of Disney Legends, including those being inducted this year. The first Disney Legend inducted was Fred MacMurray in 1987.
1,100: The number of products making their debut at the D23 Expo in the Disney DreamStore, Disney store, Mickey’s of Glendale, Disney Studio Store Hollywood, and the Walt Disney Music Emporium.
12,000: The number of square feet the Walt Disney Archives Presents Heroes and Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume with encompass. More than 70 costumes from 55 years of Disney movies and television shows will be on display.
