Disney adds second Fantasmic! show for opening week of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

In anticipation of the high crowds with the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios, Disney World is adding a second showing of the nighttime spectacular Fantasmic!

The new land opens on Aug. 29 and from Aug. 29 through Sept. 2, there will be an 8:30 p.m. show and a 10 p.m. show.

The hours of Hollywood Studios will be expanding in the morning. From Aug. 29 through Aug. 31, the park will open at 6 a.m. to all and close at 10 p.m. Starting Sept. 1 through Nov. 2, there will be Extra Magic Hours from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. The park will close at 10 p.m.

Fantasmic! features Mickey Mouse dreaming that he is a mighty sorcerer’s apprentice with the power to control water, color and magic. The Disney Villains—including Maleficent in the form of a towering, 40-foot-tall dragon—turn Mickey’s dream into a nightmare.
