Photos: Lion King Scavenger Hunt at Animal Kingdom

Searching for animals is commonplace at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, especially on Kilimanjaro Safaris. But Disney has added a new spotters guide – a Lion King Scavenger Hunt.

Spread around Harambe Village are eight statues with the stars of “The Lion King” in various poses. While we are not going to tell you the exact locations of these statues, I thought you might like to see what you are searching for and if you can’t make it, what you would have found. In addition, I have a couple of tips.

The maps are available for $6.99 at the Outpost, Discovery Trading Company, Island Mercantile, and Mombasa Marketplace. Return your map to Mombasa Marketplace in Harambe or The Outpost Shop in the Oasis by September 28, 2019, or while supplies last and you get to choose from one of three Lion King magnets.

Now on to the hunt. The statues are beautiful. They are carvings and have a wood look, so they can be hard to spot when searching in the sun. So take your time. These statues have bases that need to be in places where they can be set on something solid. So think of shelves, ledges up high, beams and maybe even the ground. Only one of the statues is actually inside a building.
