New concept art released for Disney’s Riviera Resort
Three new pieces of concept art showing off the grandeur of the new Riviera Resort at Walt Disney World opening in December 2019 has been released.
The idea behind the resort is a touch of old-world glamour with a Disney twist. The design is inspired by early 20th century hotels along Europe’s Mediterranean coast.
“Its articulated stone base and smooth stucco façades will be accented with decorative metalwork and colorful awnings. French mansard roofs and Italian style arches and loggias will intermingle with other architectural styles found along the coastal region,” Disney explains.
The center tower is the heart of the resort. Adjacent wings are designed as if added progressively to accommodate more travelers to give it a look that as if the hotel has been added on to over the years.
Each wing will grow in height, from eight to 10 stories, allowing for views of the resort to be seen from the rooftop restaurant, Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera.

The window styles will vary across the façade of the resort, with variations in size, shape and design. A variety of decorative railings throughout the resort will feature motifs of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
From the resort, you will be able to walk to the new Disney Skyliner system, which will open this fall.
