Epcot Character Spot closing in September, here’s the new character locations

The Epcot Character Spot will be closing Sept. 8, 2019, as refurbishment begins on the core of Future World. This will be the next step in the major renovation of Epcot taking place.

Currently, the Leave a Legacy monoliths are being removed and the area to be re-landscaped. In addition, the entrance is being reconfigured as the security perimeter is being changed.

From this announcement by Disney, the next big phase of work will take placed in the area between Spaceship Earth and the World Showcase Promenade. “While this work is underway, offerings at and around the Fountain of Nations will be temporarily relocated or closed,” Disney wrote on its website.

To accommodate character meetings, new locations have been announced for after Sept. 8. Here they are:

  • Minnie Mouse will move into the World Showcase Gazebo.
  • Daisy Duck will move to The American Adventure.
  • While new locations are being developed for Mickey Mouse and Goofy, they will temporarily appear in Innoventions West.
  • In the near future, Mickey Mouse will move to an all-new location in the Imagination! Pavilion.
  • Goofy will venture out into the park—and soon will find a new home.
  • Joy will move soon too—to a joyous new home.
  • And Winnie the Pooh will return to the United Kingdom pavilion and greet guests at Christopher Robin’s bedroom.
