New barbecue restaurant taking place of Liberty Inn at Epcot
A new barbecue restaurant featuring craft beers will debut at The American Adventure pavilion in Epcot later this year, Disney announced.
Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue will replace the Liberty Inn, which now serves sandwiches and burgers. The Liberty Inn will close July 8.
The new restaurant will be a modern barbecue smokehouse with a large smoker preparing food every day on the pavilion’s promenade. There will also be a redesigned patio.
The change is not a huge surprise. The Smokehouse Barbecue and Brews, outdoor kitchen on the opposite side of where the Liberty Inn is located, has been a popular staple of all the Epcot festivals. The smoker has been located there for the past few years and the Shredded Beef has been one of the more popular dishes during the festivals.
No other details were announced, such as when the new restaurant would open or if The Smokehouse Barbecue and Brews would be around for the 2019 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, which opens on Aug. 29.
