Disney reminds all of the proper attire for Disneylands’ Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Disney has clarified its position on the types of attire you can wear when visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland. We are going to guess that the same guidelines will apply when the Hollywood Studios version opens on August 29.
Disney is trying to encourage people to immerse themselves into the new land and help create their own stories while still following the current costume policy.
The policy states that costumes may not be worn by guests 14 years of age or older. In addition, masks may not be worn by any guest 14 or older. When worn by those under 14, masks must provide unobstructed peripheral vision at all times and the eyes must be visible.
So, Disney is encouraging all to dress in outfits inspired by Star Wars and has come up with this graphic to give you an idea of what is and not permitted.
What you can wear
- Bounding: Piecing together traditional clothing items that when worn together, serve as a recognizable tribute to Star Wars characters.
Batuuan attire: wearing outfits inspired by the villagers of Batuu—muted tones, vests, layers, etc.
What you are not allowed to wear
- All robes or military-style attire
- Masks, face paint, elaborate headwear, blasters or holsters (lightsabers are allowed) or hard items such as body armor, helmets or kneepads
- Full character suits
Also, there may be some items sold in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that you will not be able to wear inside the land.
