Photos: Track now being installed at new Tron ride at Magic Kingdom
The track for the new Tron attraction coming to Walt Disney World is being installed and you can watch the changes taking place daily.
The new coaster, being built in Tomorrowland next to Space Mountain in the Magic Kingdom, is based on Shanghai Disneyland’s TRON Lightcycle Power Run. Guests will board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles that will take them inside and outside the attraction’s building, reaching speeds of nearly 60 miles. The ride lasts about two minutes.
Due to the construction, the Walt Disney World Railroad has been closed for refurbishment. The ride is expected to be open in 2021.
The track will be visible until the giant color-shifting canopy is built around the ride. Here’s a look from the PeopleMover at from the Contemporary Resort.
