New Japanese restaurant at Epcot gets a name, will open this summer

The new table-service restaurant being built in the Japan Pavilion in Epcot will be named Takuma-Tei and will open sometime this summer, Disney announced today.

Takumi-Tei, which means house of the artisan, is a new signature dining experience. While the food is inspired by the collaboration between nature and takumi, the design of the restaurant celebrates the relationship between Japanese craftsmanship and the natural world.

The upscale dinner menu will highlight wagyu beef. Guests will be able to indulge in a multi-course tasting menu featuring traditional tea service. Signature cocktails and premium sake will be available along with a wine and craft beer menu.

Takumi-Tei will be operated by Mitsukoshi USA, which operates the merchandise, restaurants (Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining), and kiosks in the Japan pavilion.

The specific opening date and when reservations can be made will be announced at a later date.
