11 Lion King treats available this summer at Animal Kingdom

Disney is celebrating “The Lion King” this summer at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at that means special food treats, includings special Dole Whip concoction, ice cream sandwiches and cupcakes.

The food and merchandise offerings kick off tomorrow, May 24, 2019, and be available all summer.

Here’s a closer look at what’s coming.

Simba Ice Cream Sandwich: Available at Tamu Tamu, this vanilla ice cream is sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies and decorated with chocolate tail and an image of Simba.

Simba’s Sunset Dole Whip: Available at Tamu Tamu, this Pineapple Dole Whip is topped with red syrup made up of watermelon and coconut. 

King’s Cooler: Available at Tamu Tamu, this Pineapple Dole Whip with rum is topped with red syrup made up of watermelon and coconut.

Asante Slush: Available at the Shave Ice Cart Near Harambe Market, this haved ice topped with watermelon and passion fruit-mango syrup.

Serengeti Sangria: Available at Dawa Bar, Harambe Market, and Boneyard Bar, the drink is a fancy name for red sangria.

Bugs ‘n Grub Waffle Cone: Available at Anandapur Bus and Trilo-Bites, this chocolate soft-serve ice cream is served up in a green cone with cookies and cream “dirt” crumbles, gummy worms, and a chocolate beetle. Yum.

The Lion King” Novelty Sipper and Popcorn Bucket: These will be available later this summer at various outdoor vending locations in the park.

“The Lion King” Latte Art: Available at Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. this special latte art features Simba.

Lion’s Latte: Available at Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co., this hot or iced latte features a decadent blend of espresso, white chocolate and coconut.

Simba Cupcake: |Available at Pizzafari, this yellow vanilla cupcake is filled with white chocolate mousse and topped with buttercream, an edible piece featuring Simba, and a fierce mane of orange and yellow icing.

Special “The Lion King”-themed Merchandise: In addition to all the food, there will be special apparel including a Long Live the King Black Youth Tee, a Simba Youth Baseball Cap, and a Hakuna Matata Adult Tee. These will be available at Mombasa Marketplace, Discovery Trading Company, and Island Mercantile.
