A view of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on the Play Disney Parks App

Disney has updated the Play Disney Parks app with a map of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and an intro to one of the app’s functions – The Star Wars Datapad.

The new 14-acre Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will rely heavily on the burgeoning Play Disney Parks app to help enhance your experience and entertain you while exploring this immersive land and waiting in long lines.

The update, released yesterday, provides a map of the land, though, nothing designates specific locations. The app explains what you will be able to do with the Star Wars Datapad capability.

With your phone in hand, you will be able to hack into droids, scan encrypted cargo, tune into transmissions and translate galactic languages.

The capabilities will come on line when each land opens. Disneyland’s version will open on May 31 and Walt Disney World’s version on Aug. 29.
