Disney World increases ticket prices today
Walt Disney World raised ticket prices today in its”date-based ticket model, increasing single-day tickets for the busiest days at the parks to $159 per day.
Though, the cheapest tickets remain at the current $109 per day, according to the new calendar on the Disney World website.
The single ticket price range is now $109 to $159, compared to the former range which was between $109 to $129.
Disney instituted the date-based ticket model on Oct. 16, 2018, with the idea to spread its audience more evenly throughout the year. So during the high-season Disney has increased prices. Could this mean fewer people in the parks during that time? Time will tell. Disney has said is attempting to make the slower times more financially convenient for people.
For example a 1-day base ticket between Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve (one of the busiest weeks of the year), is now $159. A 4-day base theme park ticket in the summer (with a starting date of July 4), has seen an increase of $9 per day.
The price range for a one-day Park Hopper is now $169-$219. For Florida residents, the cost of a one-day Park Hopper ranges from $139-$189.
The price increase comes shortly after the announced opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios on Aug. 29, 2019.
Walt Disney World also offers tickets for more than one day at varying prices and discounts. The 4-Park Magic Tickets cost $380 (or $95 per day) in the summer and are good through Sept. 30 of this year.
Annual Passes for the main parks have not changed in pricing.
However, the water park Annual Pass has increased by $9 from $130 to $139.
Standard parking remains unchanged, but preferred parking now has a tier system. In regular season, preferred parking is $45, and peak tier preferred parking is $50 per day.
