Here’s when Disney World’s Festival of Fantasy parade, stage show return, new cavalcade starts
There are nearly two dozen new and returning shows and rides coming to Disney World this year and now Disney has provided three special dates to put on your calendar and they involve the Festival of Fantasy Parade, the stage show and a new special cavalcade.
All of these attractions are coming to the Magic Kingdom during the next two months. Here the specifics of the announcement:
New Cavalcade – Feb. 11
The first change is coming Feb. 11, 2022, and is a new “Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade!” Nearly 30 Disney and Pixar characters will be part of this special suer-sized cavalcade featuring Nick and Judy from “Zootopia,” Baloo and King Louie from “The Jungle Book,” José Carioca and Panchito from “The Three Caballeros,” plus Merida, Moana, The Incredibles, and the Magic Kingdom debut of Miguel from “Coco.”
Stage Show Returns – Feb. 25
The stage show on Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage is a fan favorite and has been sorely missed. Disney is not only returning the show, but is enhancing it for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary celebration.
“Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” will make its debut on Feb. 25 still with a new opening and a new finale with Mickey Mouse and all his friends in their sparkling, EARidescent fashions, plus an all-new original song entitled “Where the Magic Feels Like Home.” The show still includes scenes inspired by “Frozen,” “Tangled,” and “The Princess and the Frog” (can’t wait to see Louis the alligator play again).
Festival of Fantasy Parade Returns – March 9
The fiery breathing dragon returns. Looming 26 feet above the parade route and 35 feet in length, the fire-breathing Maleficent Dragon float returns as part of the “Festival of Fantasy” parade starting March 9. The parade features beloved characters from “The Princess and the Frog,” “Tangled,” “Peter Pan” and more.
