Here’s everything we know about the restaurant.

The name: While nothing official as been announced, it is believed the name is Space 220. According to a job posting by the Patina, the restaurant management group, that is the name it was given.

Where it is located: It is being built between Mission: Space and Test Track. If you take a ride on Test Track pay attention when you are outisde. After you finish the oval look toward the right and you will see the construction.

What you will experience: The concept is that is is a restaurant floating in space. Think of it as if the the International Space Station was turned into a restaurant, but there is a gravity and its more spacious.

Upon entering the building you head to the departure lobby to check in. From there you enter one of two transportation chambers which “launch you” to the space station.

The restaurant, which will seat about 350 people and features a 250-foot long digital screen wrapping around the wall showing off the views of space.

This new Space theme restaurant will be located between Mission Space and Test Track

Just like the space station, the crew will be international. “Like in the real International Space Station, represent your country in this restaurant. We will recruit European candidates which role will be to make the guests feel like they are in space,” according to job description for staff.

Who is operating the restaurant?: The Patina Restaurant Group, led by Nick Valenti, is operating the restaurant. They operate other restaurants around Disney World including: Tutto Italia and Via Napoli at the Italy Pavilion in  Epcot, and Morimoto Asia and Maria & Enzo’s Ristorante at Disney Springs.

When will it open?: At this point the restaurant is scheduled to open in 2021.

What type of food will be served?: Nothing has been announced concerning the menu. Since this is being viewed as an international space station, we can speculate that the menu might have a diverse selection of food from around the globe. Maybe, the best of Epcot, with of course some signature foods and drinks. You have to wonder if there will be a Tang-flavored cocktail.
