Your state’s favorite Disney Princess
Do you have a favorite Disney Princess?
Maybe, Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, Tiana, or Merida? Now, how about your neighbor and your neighbor’s neighbor?
CableTV.com decided to see how far they could go and mapped out the favorite Disney Princess in each U.S. state based on Google Trends over the past year.
The company used 16 Disney Princesses to search: Anna, Ariel, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, Elsa, Esmerelda, Jasmine, Meg, Merida, Moana, Mulan, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Snow White and Tiana. (Yes, we know Meg and some of the others are not “official” princesses.)
Some of the highlights of the findings include:
- Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” is popular in Florida
- Elsa is the most popular in a quarter of the states.
- Louisiana is all about Tiana from “The Princess and the Frog.”
- Wyoming is a big part of America’s bear country, which probably contributed a lot to Wyomingites’ love for the bear-wrangling Merida from “Brave.”
- With vast deserts of their own, Nevada and Arizona may have been drawn to the setting of “Aladdin.” Jasmine was their number-one princess.
- Utah had a five-way tie for its favorite princess – Belle, Cinderella, Elsa, Rapunzel and Snow White.
