Aerial photos of hotel construction around Disney World

The hotel boom on Disney World property is not exclusive to Walt Disney resorts.

The recent announcement by Disney of the new resort at Fort Wilderness area will the number of resorts being built by Disney to four – Fort Wilderness, the Riviera, the tower at Coronado Springs and Star Wars hotel. This will add more than 1,700 new hotel rooms and proposed Disney Vacation Club villas.

But there is more development taking place around Disney World:

A new 14-story hotel tower will be built on the Swan and Dolphin resort complex. The 349-room hotel tower will feature more than 21,000 square feet of meeting space, a restaurant, a full-service health club and an outdoor pool. It will be built next to the Swan hotel on the hotel’s tennis courts.

The JW Marriot 516-room hotel will be built on the last available site zoned for hotel use in Bonnet Creek, a 482-acre, mixed-use resort community. It is scheduled to open in the first quarter 2020.

The  Best Western Lake Buena Vista Hotel along Hotel Plaza Boulevard near Disney Springs is adding a s adding a new 14-tower building, a new meeting place, poo and parking area. It is scheduled to open in 2023.
