9 luxury Disney gift ideas that will make your jaw drop
In the spirit of the Neiman Marcus annual fantasy gift guide, we wondered what the most extravagant Disney Christmas gifts might be.
We found ideas for adults and kids (or, more likely, kids-at-heart). There’s crystal and jewelry, plus a couple of things that would be great gifts for your corporate go-getter who also likes to show a little Star Wars flair. There are even a couple of things that could be seriously tempting for the right person.
Here they are, in order from most to least expensive.
Walt Disney World Cinderella Castle Sculpture by Arribas Brothers, $37,500
We’ve seen this in person, and it is beautiful — in a museum-piece kind of way. Only 50 of the 20-inch-high castles will be built. Hand-crafted and hand-enameled, each is encrusted with 28,255 Swarovski crystal stones.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse Limited Edition Figurine by Arribas Brothers, $9,500
Only 188 copies of “Romance in the Park” will be made. Each 7-1/2″ high piece is sculpted from alabaster and encrusted with more than 30,000 tiny Swarovski crystals.
Mickey Mouse Icon Diamond Heart Necklace, $8,075
This yellow gold necklace is made of 36 individual diamonds with a total weight of 1.87 carats fashioned into 12 Mickey icons. A white gold version is available for $7,950.
X-Wing Fountain Pen by S.T. Dupont – Star Wars, $2,620
Just 1,963 of these pens will be made by S.T. Dupont. Engraved with the Star Wars logo, the pen’s design is inspired by the original X-Wing. It’s engraved with the Star Wars logo, and has a Rebel Alliance symbol on the clip. Both the pen and the stand are made from Ceramium A.C.T., an exclusive high-tech material, which is both extremely light and strong, making it almost impossible to dent or scratch.
Woody Collectible by Steiff – 14 1/2”, $1,995.95
Steiff is making only 113 of these hand-crafted Woody collectibles. The number is a nod to the animation lecture hall at California Institute of the Arts (A113), and the registration number of Andy’s mother’s car. Woody’s head and hands are hand painted and milled. Details include a handmade pewter buckle and badge, and a custom gold-plated Steiff button on the holster.
X-Wing Briefcase by S.T. Dupont – Star Wars – Limited Edition, $1,580.00
Another part of the Star Wars Collection from S.T. Dupont, only 300 of the silver gray leather X-Wing briefcases will be made. The leather is heat-stamped with the Star Wars logo and embossed with S.T. Dupont logo.
Millennium Falcon Ultimate Collector Playset by LEGO – Star Wars, $800
What lego fan wouldn’t covet the Millennium Falcon? This set includes 7,541 pieces. The Falcon comes with four classic crew minifigures (Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and C-3PO) and three “new” crew minifigures (Older Han, Rey and Finn).
Mickey The True Original Gigantic Puzzle by Ravensburger, $599.95
This doesn’t just require a large budget — it also calls for a large floor. Once completed, the 40,320-piece puzzle measures 22 feet long. It’s made up of 10 panels, each featuring a scrapbook from a particular period in Mickey’s career.. Instructions include helpful hints for assembling the puzzle and a reference guide.
Mickey Mouse Denim Jacket for Adults by rag & bone, $394.95
Rag & bone created a really cool, minimalist collection for Mickey’s 90th birthday. This makes the cut because it’s my favorite piece from the collection. In this context, a $400 denim jacket suddenly looks like a bargain.
