Sister Hazel replaces Smash Mouth at Epcot after lead singer hospitalized

Sister Hazel will be replacing Smash Mouth at the Epcot Eat to the Beat concert series this weekend due to an illness by Smash Mouth’s lead singer.

Steve Harwell needed to be taken to the hospital due to an emergency illness, Smash Mouth posted on its Facebook page.

In September 2017, Smash Mouth cancelled a concert after Harwell, 51, was hospitalized from the effects of cardiomyopathy, he told TMZ at the time. This form of heart disease enlarges and weakens the heart muscle, making it difficult to pump blood.

He was diagnosed with the disease three years ago.

Well wishes to Steve.
