3 new stores coming to Disney Springs this fall
Disney Springs is gearing up for the holidays in a big way, with three new additions to its lineup of stores.
We’ve already reported on the first — and, if you ask us, most exciting — of the new stores, artist Greg McCullough’s dedicated gallery. In addition, expect to see two new spaces in the Marketplace Co-Op, one offering pet accessories and the other focusing on paper sculpture greeting cards.
The Art of Disney Presents Greg McCullough will take over the space formerly occupied by Little Miss Matched for a limited engagement, from Nov. 3–Jan. 1. The gallery will include original works, limited-editions and prints. McCullough plans to release at least 20 new original paintings that he calls “Disney Remnants” and “Abstract Remnants”—mosaics created from unused oil paint. The artist will appear at the gallery to visit with guests from 1–7 p.m. every day except Mondays. In addition to chatting with McCullough, guests may also have a chance to see him at work.
But before the new gallery opens, there will be two new destinations at the Marketplace Co-Op. Both are scheduled to open Oct. 12, so if you’re an Annual Passholder stopping by for Super Saturday, be sure to check out the Co-Op too.
Disney Tails will feature leashes, collars, squeaky toys and more for your furry friends. In addition to current Mickey and Minnie Mouse collections, items based on Haunted Mansion and Star Wars will debut when the store opens. (We don’t know whether this shop will displace something else in the Co-Op or be worked into the space another way.)
Nearby, in the center of the Co-Op, Lovepop will sell intricate 3D paper sculpture greeting cards.
In addition to the new shops, we’re eagerly awaiting the grand re-opening of the World of Disney, which has been under construction since February. The first half of the renovation opened in July with a much more open and airy design. The second half is due to open before the holidays—and with it, we expect to see the addition of some Disney magic.
