Putting pen, pencil or crayon to paper has been had been extremely popular the only way to tell your favorite star how important they are to you.
One of the kings of fan mail is Mickey Mouse.
According to the Guinness World Records, Mickey Mouse was reported to have received 800,000 fan letters in 1933. That’s an average of 66,000 per month.
In 1936, 7-year-old Shirley Temple received just over 60,000 letters per month.
Charlie Chaplin made a record of 73,000 fan letters in the first three days when he returned to London in 1921.
However, the record for the most fan mail received in one year goes to baseball legend Hank Aaron in 1974.
According to Guinness World Record, the US Postal Department confirmed Aaron received 900,000 letters in 1974,.On April 8, 1974, Aaron hit his 715th career home run, breaking Babe Ruth’s 39-year-old Major League record.
