What’s the deal with Mickey and Minnie Mouse?

Mickey and Minnie sure seem eternally devoted to each other. They’re practically inseparable and prone to public displays of affection.

But they have separate houses next door to one another at Disneyland.

So … what’s the deal with this power couple? Are they married, dating, or just putting on a Hollywood show?

Walt Disney himself answered this question in 1933 during an interview with Film Pictorial: “In private life, Mickey is married to Minnie,” he told the magazine. “What it really amounts to is that Minnie is, for screen purposes, his leading lady.”
