See who Mickey Mouse invited to his 20th anniversary party
Mickey Mouse’s 20th-anniversary party hosted by Walt Disney was a gala event.
The 1948 party featuring ice cream and hot dogs was attended by 600 guests, including some of the biggest Hollywood stars and their kids, according to Screenland magazine.
Some of the celebrities included Edgar Bergen, with Candice Bergen, Joan Bennett Wanger with Stephanie Wanger, and Cheryl Crane, Lana Turner’s daughter.
The party started with a showing of “Fun and Fancy Free,” which featured Mickey in the telling of Jack and the Beanstalk. It also included a number of Mickey Mouse-shaped cakes.
One of the people invited to the event was newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst, who created a huge media company. We don’t know if he attended, but here is a look at the telegram that was sent.
