Photos: Universe of Energy mirrored tiles removed at Epcot

As construction takes place on the large ride building for the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster at Epcot in Walt Disney World, work is also taking place on the former Universe of Energy building.

The roller coaster, which is being touted that it will be one of the longest inside roller coasters in the world when it opens in 2021, will be housed in a building with a 71,950 square foot foundation. The former Universe of Energy will house the queue and pre-shows.

Looking at the Universe of Energy building you can now see that many of the mirrored tiles that adorned the structure are gone. In addition, the solar panels which are on top of the building will also be replaced, we were told, due to their age.
