Disneyland to celebrate 63rd anniversary with special parade
Disneyland is celebrating its 63rd anniversary July 17, 2018, with a special parade down Main Street, U.S.A.
The “Happiest March on Earth” will take place throughout the park at 2:50 and 5:25 p.m. The special parade will include Disney Ambassadors, the Dapper Dans and 63 Disney Friends.
The march will make several celebration stops throughout Disneyland, including: “it’s a small world” Mall, the Hub, Main Street U.S.A., and Town Square.
Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955, with 18 attractions and no hotels. There are now two theme parks at the resort, nearly 100 attractions, three hotels and a shopping/dining/entertainment district.
Since 1955, dignitaries, heads of state, celebrities and more than 800 million guests have passed through its gates.
As part of the tribute to opening day, July 17, 1955, a recording of Walt Disney’s speech will be played: “To all who come to this happy place–welcome! Disneyland is your land. Here, age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.”
