Photos: The backside of Disney World’s Star Wars land construction

The South Studio Drive entrance to Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World provides a unique view of the construction taking place for the new Star Wars land.

As you drive under the Hollywood Studios sign off of World Drive you come upon metal skeletons of mountains reaching to the sky. Those ranges and building being complete will make up the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, which will open in late fall 2019 at Disney World. A version will open in Disneyland in the summer of 2019.

The new land is being touted as a completely immersive experience. Guests will go to the planet of Batuu, where Star Wars characters and their stories will come to life. Two major attractions anchor the new land. On one ride you fly the Millennium Falcon on an adventure. The second attraction puts you in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Here’s a look at the drive in and what you see at Disney World.
