Opening seasons announced for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland, Disney World
The new 14-acre Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open during the summer of 2019 at the Disneyland Resort and in late fall 2019 at Walt Disney World, Disney announced Tuesday.
Writing on the Disney Parks Blog, Scott Trowbridge, Portfolio Creative Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering, announced the times of year the lands would open on the West Coast and East Coast. No specific dates have been announced.
Construction of the Disneyland version of the new Star Wars land started before work at Hollywood Studios in Florida.
The land is being touted as a completely immersive experience. Guests will go to the planet of Batuu, where Star Wars characters and their stories will come to life. Two major attractions anchor the new land. On one ride you fly the Millennium Falcon on an adventure. The second attraction puts you in the middle of a battle between the First Order and the Resistance.
