Disney World changes how its Lost and Found works

Disney is now using Chargerback to help streamline its Lost and Found process for the thousands of items misplaced every year at Walt Disney World.

The new online process will allow the Disney team to start looking for the lost item and keep guests updated during the process.

The new form,  located here, has a drop-down menu providing 27 different categories of items lost, plus an Other category for something that doesn’t fit. It also has an area where you can include additional information, such as color of item, type of ID, etc.

Once you fill out the online form you will receive an email notification with your Lost Item claim number. Disney will continue to look for your item and provide you with an email update within 48 hours. “We recognize that your item is important to you and will contact you if we believe we have found it or need further information,” Disney states.

Highly valuable items, such as wallets, purses, credit cards, prescription glasses and cameras are held for 90 days. Items of lesser value, such as sunglasses, hats, toys and clothes are held for 30 days.

Anything lost at a Walt Disney World theme park, Disney Springs, Transportation (including busses, monorails and watercraft), ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or Disney Water Park will be using the new system.

If you believe you lost the item at a resort hotel you should call contact the specific resort Lobby Concierge for assistance. If you left it on Disney’s Magical Express here are those numbers:  If the item has been lost for less than 30 minutes, please contact (866) 599-0951. If the item was lost over 30 minutes ago, please contact Mears Transportation Group at (407) 423-5566.
