Avengers: Infinity War breaks $1 billion box office take in record time
Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War” is the fastest of any film in history to conquer the $1 billion worldwide box office mark in history, reaching $450 million domestically in just nine days.
The film’s domestic gross now at $450.8 million, pacing behind only Star Wars: The Force Awakens which reached that mark in just nine days, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com.
Internationally, Infinity War remained the top western release in every country it appeared in, posting an estimated $162.6 million. This helped bring the film’s worldwide total to $1.16 billion.
The film is currently No. 15 on the overall list of Worldwide Gross list with the movie still scheduled for release in China on May 11, 2018.
A total of 34 films have grossed $1 billion or more at the worldwide box office. Disney dominates with 17 of the 34 belonging to the company (however, one Star Wars film was released by Fox). And Marvel has seven of those slots. Here’s the list of 34 movies (In addition to “Avengers: Inifity War,” “Black Panther” is still considered an active movie.):
