New Magic Kingdom Theater at Disney World may be dead

A new theater venue announced for construction at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World looks as though it will no longer take place.

The Magic Kingdom Theater was touted as one of 19 major projects and expansions to take place at Disney World and Disneyland during the D23 2017 Expo. Disney Parks Chairman Bob Chapek unveiled the plans for the theater, which would bring “world-class entertainment to the Walt Disney World Resort.”

However, the official Coming Soon page, which once listed the project, has now been changed and the project is no longer on the list.

The theater venue was to be placed behind Main Street, U.S.A. and based on the Willis Theater in 1920s Kansas City.

There has been a lot of speculation that the project was dead once the pre-construction unit at the location packed up and left. Disney has not made any official announcement on this project.
