Epcot’s Odyssey being turned into a flex-use space
Disney World is making over the Odyssey at Epcot to turn it into a flexible-use space.
The former restaurant, located between Test Track and the Mexico pavilion, was used most recently as the festival center for the Epcot International Festival of the Arts.
But it is now being turned into flex space, the Orlando Sentinel reports.
“It could be a restaurant one day, it could be a merchandise shop the next day, it could be character greeting — whatever we need to be,” Dave Kesting, general manager of Epcot festival told the Sentinel.
The Odyssey opened when the park did in 1982 as a restaurant. Briefly in the late 1980s and early 1990s there were live character shows at the location. In 1994, the Odyssey Restaurant closed and was then used for special events.
