Is this the ride vehicle for the new Guardians of the Galaxy rollercoaster?
Photos showing a new ride vehicle by manufacturer Vekoma are believed to be part of the new system for the Guardians of the Galaxy rollercoaster coming to Epcot in Disney World.
The photos posted on Theme Park Review by MrRc show a four-seater ride vehicle on a track and the discussion mentions how the vehicle sits high with the wheels on the exterior, not the interior. There is also a theory that this system would be for the new coaster.
The photos are said to be taken at Vekoma’s ride testing facility.
A rollercoaster sitting high would not be unusual for Disney since it does like to hide tracks as possible to keep the entire experience immersive.
The ride system matches the seat layout and car design WDW News Today originally reported on in December, based on internal documents the website said they obtained.
There is a strong likelihood that these photos are the ride system since Vekoma has created numerous attractions with Disney including: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, The Barnstomer, Expedition Everest, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain in Disneyland Paris and the Tron Lightcycle Power.
Guardians of the Galaxy opens in 2021 at Ecpot, replacing Universe of Energy.
