Video: The remaking of a classic song for The American Adventure in Epcot
When Disney embarked on refurbishing The American Adventure in Epcot it decided to tackle its theme song, “Golden Dream,” and thought it was time to take a fresh look at the song.
The song features a tribute to most of the quintessentual moments in American history.
After listening to the song, Disney Imagineering thought it was “time for an update, to get a fresh take on this song,” John Dennis, creative executive director of Walt Disney Imagineering said. ” We wanted to do something timeless and that wouldn’t be date stamped to 2018.”
“We rerecorded new vocalists, new orchestra and new rythem section onder Harvey Mason Jr.,” he said.
Mason is a famed pop/rock and movie music producer, known for his work with individual artists like John Legend, Beyonce, Britney Spears and movies like “Pitch Perfect 2” “Dreamgirls,” “Sing” and “Straight Outta Compton.”
“After going on a journey of excitement, some down moments, some sadness, some introspection, I wanted people to leave at a high note of ‘Man this is great. I love America,’ ” Mason said.
