Video: Guests stuck on Disney World monorail as doors fail to open

Passengers on a Disney World monorail were stuck on the train for three stops, banging on the windows to gain attention, as the door failed to open on Dec. 8, 2018, according to a video posted on social media.

A Disney World spokeswoman told the Orlando Sentinel today that Disney apologizes for the inconvenience and is looking into the matter.

According to the five-minute video, the doors of the last car of Monorail Yellow failed to open at both the Ticket & Transportation Center, Polynesian Village Resort, and Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

The mood on the monorail appeared to be light with some people laughing at the circumstances. The guests could not gain the attention of anyone until they got to the Grand Floridian when a child screamed out the window, and a cast member responded. No one was injured in the incident.

In January, monorail passengers took a video when a monorail door popped open in mid-ride between the Transportation and Ticket Center and Epcot. No one was injured in that incident as well.
