Change is rampant at Disneyland.
Not only is there major construction in Disneyland, with the building of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, but there will be a few months of major change taking place at California Adventure.
Starting Jan. 8, 2018, rides and attractions at Paradise Pier will close as it is re-themed into Pixar Pier. The means the creations of four new “neighborhoods” and a major re-theming of California Screamin’ into an Incredibles roller coaster called the Incredicoaster. This should all re-open on June 23, 2018.
In the meantime there are a number of usual seasonal closings for refurbishment.
Remember, these closings are subject to change, so please, check the Disneyland website before going. Here’s the list:
Splash Mountain closes Jan. 2, 2018 for refurbishment, re-opening is TBD
Dumbo the Flying Elephant closes Jan. 8, 2018 for refurbishment, re-opening is TBD
Main Street Vehicles closes Jan. 8, 2018 for refurbishment, re-opening March 16, 2018.
Pirates of the Caribbean closes for refurbishment April 23 to June 7, 2018.
Ariel’s Grotto closes Jan. 8, 2018 for a complete refurbishment. Reopening is TBD
California Screamin’ closes on Jan. 8, 2018 and will be refurbished into the Incredicoaster and opens June 23, 2018.
Games of the Boardwalk closes on Jan. 8, 2018 and will be refurbished and open June 23, 2018.
Mickey’s Fun Wheel closes Jan. 8, 2018 as part of the transformation of Paradise Pier into Pixar Pier. It should reopen June 23, 2018.
King Triton’s Carousel closes March 2, 2018, for refurbishment and re-opens June 23, 2018.
