The New Year has started and there are already plans for ride and attractions closing for refurbishment at Disney World.
Winter is the normal time for the water parks to get refurbished. Normally we see only one water park operational from October to March and that agains happen. Blizzard Beach will soon reopen and Typhoon Lagoon will again close.
Here are the rides and attractions which will be closed for the first few months of 2018:
Stitch’s Great Escape closes Jan. 7, 2018. There is speculation this will be a permanent closing for the attraction, but no announcement has been made.
Splash Mountain closes from Jan. 8 to Feb. 1, 2018, for refurbishment.
Liberty Square Riverboat closes from Jan. 8 to June or July 2018, for refurbishment.
Pirates of the Caribbean closes from Feb. 26 to March 18, 2018, for a major refurbishment which will change the Auction scene in the ride.
Cinderella’s Royal Table closes from Feb. 28 to March 2, 2017, for refurbishment.
The American Adventure closes Jan. 15 to Feb. 14, 2018, for refurbishment.
Kali River Rapids closes from Jan. 2 to Feb. 20, 2018, for refurbishment.
Finding Nemo closes from Feb. 4 to unknown date, for refurbishment.
Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
The water park closes from Jan. 7 to March 18, 2018 for refurbishment.
Blizzard Beach Water Park
The water park is closed from Oct. 30, 2017 to Jan. 6, 2018 for refurbishment.
