Disney World going cashless at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Disney World is turning the Jambo House at Animal Kingdom Lodge cashless starting in mid-February.
As part of a pilot program, guests at the resort will only be allowed to pay with cash-free options starting Feb. 12, 2018, according to Disney.
“During your stay, all purchases and services made at Jambo House will be handled with convenient, cash-free options. The Resort will accept MagicBands for charges to your room account, credit cards, debit cards, Disney Gift Cards, Disney Rewards Redemption Cards and contactless payments, such as Apple Pay, Samsung Pay or Google Pay,” according to letters sent out to guests.
A cash deposit or credit card may be provided at check-in to activate room charging privileges as needed.
Cash tips are still allowed for bell services, valet, bartenders and servers.
Disney took cash mostly out of the equation for those staying on property with the introduction of the MagicBands in 2014. MagicBands can be used to make room charges, as well be used as a room key, for dining plans, park tickets and Photopass.
