What President Trump says at the Hall of Presidents in Disney World

The Hall of Presidents at Disney World has reopened after a year-long update with President Donald Trump giving a short speech.

The attraction has been closed as the film and attraction have been updated and the preparation of the new audio-animatronic character of President Trump. The attraction was supposed to reopen in late June and  then for the Fourth of July. But by late June, Trump had not yet recorded the dialogue and there were issues between the White House and Disney as to the script.

There was a lot of consternation by Disney fans over exactly what Trump would be saying. The delay created a number of conspiracy theories on the internet and has sparked strong opinions from Disney fans on both sides of the political aisle. Some have been waiting for a long time for Trump’s appearance and others who have sworn never to enter the attraction again.

The Hall of Presidents has been a fixture at the Magic Kingdom since 1971, presenting American history. Each of the presidents are portrayed by audio-animatronic figures.

In this version, Abraham Lincoln delivers the Gettysburg address and George Washington introduces the idea of the presidency. The only other president to speak is Trump.

Trump recites the oath of office and follows with a 161 word speech. Here is the full text (the video is below):

“I Donald John Trump solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. So help me God.

“From the beginning, America has been a nation defined by its people. At our founding, it was the American people who rose up to defend our freedoms and win our independence. It is why our founders began our great Constitution with three very simple words: We, the people.

“Since that moment each generation of Americans has taken its place in the defense of our freedom, or flag and our nation under God. These are the achievements of the American spirit. The spirit of a people who fought and died to bring the blessings of liberty to all people. Above all, to be American is to be an optimist to believe we can always do better and that the best days of our great nation are still ahead of us.  It’s a privilege to serve as the President of the United States. To stand here among so many great leaders of our past and to work on behalf of the American people.”
