UPDATED: Everything you need to know about Star Wars: Galactic Nights

There has a been a flurry of new information coming out for the upcoming Star Wars: Galactic Nights taking place on Dec. 16, 2017 at Hollywood Studios in Disney World. So, we decided to update this guide from earlier.

Thanks to WDWMagic for obtaining a lot of the specific scheduling for the event. Here’s what you need to know:

When is Star Wars: Galactic Nights?

The event is taking place Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 from 7 p.m. to midnight.

How much does Star Wars: Galactic Nights cost?

Tickets are $129 adults, $124 ages 3-9. Discount available for Annual Passholders by booking online or calling 407-WDW-PASS and for Disney Vacation Club Members by calling Member Services at 1-800-800-9800 or online, as well. Tickets are now on sale at Disneyworld.com/GalacticNights or by calling 407-W-DISNEY (407 934-7639).

What special events will be taking place?

Inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Epic Stunt Theater – 8:10 p.m., 9:10 p.m., 10:10 p.m., 11:10 p.m.
David Collins will host a panel –  Scott Trowbridge, Portfolio Creative Executive at Walt Disney Imagineering; Robin Reardon, Executive Creative Producer at Walt Disney Imagineering; Chris Beatty, Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering; Doug Chiang, VP/Creative Director at Lucasfilm – to discus the new 14-acre expansion to the park, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which is due to open in 2019.

Star Wars: Galactic Destinations – Projections on Sunset Boulevard – 7 p.m. to midnight

The Hollywood Tower Hotel was transformed for the holiday season to show projections for the Christmas season, now the hotel will transform to sho destinations from across the Star Wars galaxy.

Jedi Training (ages 4 to 12) – Star Tours area – 6:10 p.m., 6:40 p.m., 7:15 p.m., 7:45 p.m., 8:15 p.m., 8:45 p.m., 9:45 p.m., 10:15 p.m.

DJ Dance Party – Centerstage – 7 p.m. to midnight.

Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away – Centerstage – 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m., 10:20 p.m.

Imperial March – Main entrance to Centerstage – 7:05 p.m., 8:05p.m., 9:05 p.m., 9:55 p.m.

Galactic Nights Epilogue – Centerstage – 11:40 p.m.

Will there be fireworks at Star Wars: Galactic Nights?

Yes, the Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular fireworks with projections, lasers and fire erupting high in the sky at 11:45 p.m. at Centerstage.

 Will there be characters?

Yes, you’l be able to find them at the following locations:

  • Launch Bay – Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, BB-8, Jawas and Rey.
  • Animation Courtyard – AWR Troopers
  • Star Tours – Storm Troopers
  • Sunset Showcase Courtyard – Seventh Sister
  • Commissary Lane – Mickey and Minnie
  • Echo Lake – Olaf
  • Pixar Place – Buzz and Woody
  • Walt Disney Presents – Star Lord and Groot

Can we ride any of the rides at the park?

Yes, the following attractions will be open:

  • Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
  • Star Wars Launch Bay
  • Star Wars: Path of the Jedi
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • Toy Story Mania!
  • Muppet*Vision 3D
  • Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream (Remember, this has part of the Star Wars: Galaxy Edge model)

What other special things are happening?

Special photo scenes: There will be special Star Wars-themed backdrops depicting popular scenes from the entire Star Wars Saga around for you can have a photo taken of you in the the action. Each location will feature a special Snapchat filter, exclusive to the event.

  • Death Star: Emperor’s Throne Room – Near Hyperion Theater
  • Batuu – Grand Avenue
  • Jedha: U-wing and K-2SO – Grand Avenue
  • Malachor: Sith Temple – Sunset Showcase Courtyard
  • Hoth: Wampa Cave – Sunset Showcase Courtyard
  • Jakku: Luggabeast – Inside Sunset Showcase
  • Tatooine: Rancor – Inside Sunset Showcase

Are there any special add-on packages?

There are three of them. The Jedi Recruitment Package is for children 4 to 12 years of age and offers an enhanced Jed-training experience. For $149.95 plus tax (yes, you saw the number correctly) this is what the package includes:

  • Enrollment for one youngling in one show of Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple
  • Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple robe
  • Official Star Wars lightsaber
  • Personalized name badge
  • Exclusive Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple t-shirt
  • Picture with a Jedi Master—available via free digital download

2. The Galactic Tasting Sampler is tasting-sized sips and bites inspired by the stories and characters of Star Wars at a price of  $30 per person, plus tax.

The menu, which is subject to change includes items such as :

  • Lightsaber churros
  • Root Leaf Stew
  • Character cupcakes—like Darth Vader chocolate peanut butter cupcakes
  • Charcuterie plates featuring C3PO crackers
  • Specialty beverages

3. The Skywalker Vineyards Wine Seminar will take place and the seminar, where there will be a discussion on the vineyard and wine making process,  is free. But you will need to purchase tickets on site for sample.
