Last Atlanta Braves Spring training schedule at Disney World is released
The World Series Champion Houston Astros are among several of the top teams in Major League Baseball who will battle The Atlanta Braves during spring training at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World.
This is expected to be the last season for the Braves at Disney World. The team is building a new facility near Sarastoa, Florida that is expected to open in 2019. The team has said it wanted a new facility closer to the Grapefruit League sites, which are mostly on the Gulf Coast and in South Florida.
The Astros, who won their first World Series title in the team’s 56-year history and celebrated it at the Magic Kingdom will take on the Braves at Champion Stadium on March 8, 2018.
The Yankees come to town March 9 and 24, and the Nationals make two appearances, opening the Braves’ home schedule on Feb. 26 and returning on March 1.
Other key games include the St. Louis Cardinals (March 3 and 17) and the Miami Marlins (March 4) and their new ownership group led by baseball legend Derek Jeter. In all, the Braves will play 18 home games at Disney.
Disney character appearances and kids running the bases after every game are just some of the in-game entertainment that take place with Braves.
