Disneyland to build new 700-room hotel
Disneyland is building a new 700-room hotel on the west end of the Downtown Disney District.
This is the first time in almost two decades a new hotel has been built on property, according to the Disney Parks Blog.
Disney released a couple of artist drawings of the building. The concept is to create a resort oasis, showing nature on every level of the hotel. There is extensive landscaping and water elements.
The new hotel will connect all four of the Disneyland Resort hotels with gardens and landscaped walkways.
Guest rooms, public spaces and gardens will provide views of the Downtown Disney District with an upper-level restaurant and lounge with a view of the Disneyland fireworks. And, there will also be a monorail platform in the hotel to bring guests straight to Disneyland
The ground level will have shops and restaurants opening onto an landscaped plaza with water features.
Construction is scheduled to start in summer 2018, with a grand opening slated for 2021.
