Disneyland adding new parking structure
Disneyland is expanding the number of parking spots by adding a new 6,500-space structure on the an open lot, the Disney Parks announced.
The structure is being built on the current Pinocchio surface lot next to Mickey & Friends.
The increased parking capacity and additional 60 percent increase in the number of access lanes should speed up guest arrival on the west side of the park, Disney says. This would eliminate backups on city streets.
Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2018, with the structure set to open the following year in anticipation of the of the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land opening in 2019.
The tram boarding area will also be reconfigured to enhance the transportation experience for guests parking at both the new structure and Mickey & Friends.
Disneyland previously announced it was adding 455 parking spaces to its Tory Story Lot.
