Disney World mobile food ordering now available at 15 restaurants
Disney World has now expanded its mobile ordering capabilities to 15 quick-service restaurants in the theme parks, resorts and Disney Springs.
The mobile ordering on the My Disney Experience app is friendly and straightforward. We tried it recently at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in the Magic Kingdom. This is the one place where we consistently need to walk the entire room searching for an empty table while balancing a tray of food and competing with others for those same seats.
The mobile ordering made it easier. We started looking at the menu on the app, while searching for seats. We found a nice table, placed our order and within a few minutes, we received confirmation the food was ready. We headed up to the designated location and retrieved our order.
you as you walk by.
At this point, one of the drawbacks isa hat you can only pay with a credit card and not use the dining plan or any discounts. Hopefully that will soon follow, now that the My Disney Experience app has been updated to keep track of your dining plan.
Here’s how the process works: Through the app guests can bypass the line to order when they arrive at the restaurant. You can elect menu items, customize the order and pre-pay for your meal. When you arrive at the restaurant you tap an “I’m here” button in the app, which will notify the kitchen to prepare the meal. When ready, you then receive an alert through the app to pick up the meal at a designated window.
