Aug. 8: The Walt Disney Company will discuss fiscal third quarter 2017 financial results via a live audio webcast beginning at 4:30 p.m. EDT
Aug. 12: The reboot of Disney’s 1980s classic cartoon “Duck Tales” will premiere with a one-hour TV movie on Disney XD.
Eventually, The Great Movie Ride will be replaced with the first-ever attraction centered around Mickey Mouse called Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. The new attraction will take guest on a journey inside the Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts.
Aug. 13: The revamped Mission: SPACE at Epcot will reopen with new missions and lower height restrictions for kids.
The revamped Orange Mission is still an intense ride to Mars, where you dodge meteoroids and slingshot around the moon, but it has been enhanced with and HD video.
The new Green Mission is more family-friendly and takes guests on an orbit around the Earth and then landing at Kennedy Space Center.
To help make it more family friendly, the Green Mission has an X-2 booster seat allowing children to to 44 inches high to ride.
Aug. 15: The Signature Collection “The Lion King” will be released on Digital HD and will be released on Blu-ray on Aug. 29.
Aug. 18: Marvel’s “The Defenders” debuts on Netflix. This is another Marvel team putting together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
