Disneyland Paris kicks off 25th anniversary (Photos)
Disneyland Paris has kicked off its 25th anniversary with Walt Disney Parks and Resort Chairman Bob Chapek and Disneyland Resort Paris President Catherine Powell launching the ceremonies in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

“Since it opened its gates in 1992, Disneyland Paris has been a place where the young and young at heart can step into the worlds of their favorite stories, meet beloved characters, and become part of the magic in a way that only happens at a Disney Park,” Chapek said. “And we’ve got even more magic in store for our 25th anniversary.”
Powell also talked about the legacy she feels as the resort’s leader.
“Now, more than ever before, Disneyland Paris is looking to the future, and continuing to exceed our Guests’ expectations,” Powell said.
The agreement to create Euro Disneyland project in France was signed on march 24 1987, in Paris. The signing of this document by French public authorities and The Walt Disney Company laid the foundation for building a Disney resort in France. Construction began as soon as 1988 in Marne-la-Vallée.
On April 1 1992, the Marne-la-Vallée – Chessy RER regional train line station is opened linking Disneyland Paris to the rest of France. And, on April 12, 1992, Disneyland Paris officially opneed its doors to the public.
